Sustainability Concerns One of the most pressing issues facing the capsule industry is sustainability. Capsules, especially in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets, are often made from gelatin, which is derived from animal byproducts. As consumers become more environmentally and ethically conscious, the demand for plant-based or more sustainable alternatives is rising. However, producing eco-friendly capsules that meet the same safety, stability, and effectiveness standards as gelatin-based capsules is challenging.
